Manage the administration and logistics in support of three Media Brands in an extremely busy special events environment. Coordinate and manage 150+ station events per year. Assist stations in effectively engaging as many people in our target audience as possible through promotional and digital initiatives. Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary. The Promotions and Events Coordinator provides outstanding customer service, is an enthusiastic professional, and is able to build relationships with internal and external customers.
Schedule and train on-call promotions staff
Work with concert promoters and venues on upcoming live events
Work with agencies on movie screenings
Work with video game companies on new game releases
Work with Team partners on upcoming events
Contact prize winners and coordinate prize pick-up
Manage redemption and legal/tax info for auditing purposes
Manage events page on station websites/Write events page listings
Manage contests/rewards page listings and write contests and rewards page listings
Manage/spearhead station community outreach programs
Manage on-site and off-site storage
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years post high school education in communication/journalism and business with skills in the following areas: writing, computer, and a related field or equivalent.
Ability to work flexible schedule on short notice (especially weekends, evenings, and holidays).
Writing skills (staff communication, event recaps, newsletters, etc.)
Computer skills (word processing, Internet navigation, spreadsheets, basic graphics, etc.)
Customer service orientation represent station(s) well with public.
Must possess valid driver’s license with proven ability to safely drive company vehicles without exposing company to serious liability risks.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
Superior customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
Creative thinking problem solving.
Organization and project management skills.
At least two (2) years’ experience in coordinating special events and staff management.
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
