FCC Extends C-Band Registration Deadline 

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: If you wait until the last minute to submit an online FCC filing, be prepared to bang your head against your desk while you struggle to log in to a filing system that often melts down when thousands of filers simultaneously attempt access. Fortunately, the FCC appreciates the limitations of its filing systems, and has frequently granted extensions where the system collapse was sufficiently apparent.

Avis Budget Group, Pearl TV To Launch In-Car 3.0 Phoenix Trial In Early 2019

Cars will soon regularly receive ATSC 3.0 signals from Phoenix broadcasters taking part in the latest facet of an ongoing trial of Next-Gen TV. Pearl TV, which is leading the Phoenix Model Market project of 12 stations, and Avis Budget Group announced Oct. 15 they will begin testing various use cases for TV-delivered signals to passenger cars early next year.

Two-Thirds of Marketing Budgets Go to Local Advertising

All size businesses direct almost two-thirds of their marketing dollars into activating local media ad platforms and the remainder into promotions. For businesses with 500 or more employees, this spending averages $4.48 million for advertising and $2.18 million on promotions.

What You Need to Know about Putting Drug Prices in TV Ads

HHS is now proposing to require that TV ads for prescription drugs include their list price. “If we want to have a real market for drugs, why not have [companies] disclose their prices in the ads, too? Consumers would have much more balanced information, and companies would have a very different set of incentives for setting their prices.” – HHS Secretary Alex Azar
