Earlier this month, members of the ABA Board met virtually with our Arizona delegation of U.S. Senators and Representatives. We host these meetings at least once a year to make sure we are putting the most important broadcast issues in front of the people with power to do something about it.
This year, we are focusing our attention on four key issues:
- How we need help to fight big tech in protection of local journalism
- The importance of avoiding harmful changes to advertising tax treatment
- Keeping radio performance taxes at bay
- Reinstating a diversity tax certificate
We’ll keep you updated as each issue reaches Congress for consideration later this year. Please thank the following Arizona TV and radio leaders for their generous time to join our discussions with Congress this month:
Brian Cisek, AZ-TV Phoenix/Prescott
Andrew Deschapelles, Telemundo Phoenix/Tucson
Anita Helt, ABC15/CW61 Phoenix
Troy Little, Native Broadcast Enterprises, Navajo Nation
Michael Mallace, MHM Consulting Phoenix
Trip Reeb, Hubbard Radio Phoenix
Patty Ruiz, Bustos Media Tucson
Scott Sutherland, Bonneville Phoenix
